First, the size. At 2.5m high, 2.55m long and 90cm deep, this is less a BBQ than a garden feature. At 2090kg it is heavyweight, beautifully made and as solid as a rock. Literally. The refractory oven burns wood. The BBQ grill burns wood or charcoal, the choice is yours.

Preparation-wise, you’ll need to create a good, strong, solid base for it to stand on and the assembly, while easy, will take a couple of you simply because the segments are so heavy, such good quality. Being so big, it makes sense to do some very careful measuring before you buy, and also take time to decide exactly where it’ll go. Once she’s up, you won’t want to dismantle her again… this is a permanent BBQ, built to stay outside for years, for life. In winter there’s no need to cover it up. Just leave it and it’ll stay looking great whatever the weather. To clean it for next time, a wipe with a soft damp cloth will do the trick.

Next, the style. It is soooo cool! A traditional Italian feel and Mediterranean styling makes for a luxury item that’s as hot on looks as it is on performance. The worktop is made from beautiful Marmotech, given a shiny grey granite finish. Marmotech is a bit of a miracle material, an engineered marble made using as much as 95% natural marble grains plus calcium carbonate and polyester resin to glue it all together. The resulting material looks exactly like natural stone but it is harder than real marble, resists chemicals better, and isn’t porous. Used for luxury flooring and bathrooms as well as exterior purposes, it’s made in an eco-friendly way and is bacterially resistant, ideal for a food setting.

The generous-sized storage compartments have optional doors for you to use or not, it’s entirely up to you. There integral windshields and canopy protect you and your food from the weather.

The oven has a super-strong stainless steel door with its own thermometer and a handle that stays cool enough to touch no matter how hot the oven gets. There’s an integrated firebox brazier. The well-designed firebox and side wood brazier make cooking and wood-loading easy, even while you’re grilling, and the built-in wood store keeps your fuel neat and tidy, safe from trips and falls, easy to reach.

The grill area has a refractory floor and insulated padding. The Marmotech worktop offers a stylish polished grey granite-inspired finish. The quaint tile-effect roof is made from a material called Cemipiù, specially invented for outdoor use, resistant to wear and tear as well as hitting the right food safety touch standards with CE 1935/2004 certification. The delivery even contains the strong adhesive needed to glue the whole structure firmly, safely together, and spare paint for you to touch it up.
