Or for your customers – it also makes an excellent money-spinning feature for pub gardens, restaurants and other commercial spaces where offering outdoor food will generates more custom and more cash. Very handy for these covid times, when the virus keeps popping back up.

Loads of space for stashing your essentials

One of the most annoying things about cooking outdoors can be the lack of space for cutlery and condiments, crockery, ingredients, your gas bottle and all your cooking utensils. This XL masonry barbecue takes care of all that thanks to plenty of handy places to put your stuff so it’s safe, always there when you need it. Store things on the two shelves one level up, or on the ground under the unit where there are three more spaces for your essentials.

Your gas bottle stands safe and firm in its own neat compartment, a good safety feature as well as a way of keeping it out of your way while you prepare fab foods. And there’s a set of painted steel doors to enclose the centre shelf, another nifty space to store whatever you like.

So how about the cooking itself?

Cook on a high temperature wood fire for fragrant BBQ flavours. Use the gas hob to create even more tasty goodies. The firebox and grill area are specially strengthened to stand the extreme heat of burning logs with no problem.

The big stainless steel grill grate can be adjusted to different heights to change the cooking temperature, a deceptively simple system giving you all sorts of flexibility. When you move it up or down you simply bring the food closer to or further away from the fire. It’s a real pleasure to use.

The grill itself measures 68 x 43cm. There’s a handy stainless steel sink with a mixer tap on one side, convenient and incredibly useful since you don’t have to keep running in and outdoors to rinse utensils or wash things up. The twin stainless steel gas hob has its own lid and lights with simple, instant piezo ignition. It gives you a cooking area of 68 x 40cm.

The build, the materials, and the assembly

This massive XL masonry BBQ is made from very tough, top quality refractory concrete, used to create a high temperature thermal concrete barrier, often used for outdoor ovens like this as well as furnaces, pizza ovens, kilns, and stoves. The material stands firm and strong even when exposed to very high temperatures for a long time.

The good-looking working surfaces are made of Marmotech, a tough mix of refractory concrete and granulated marble that also resists very high temperatures. It’ll never need painting, which is good to know. It’s also good to know this stone effect BBQ is very easy to assemble. It comes with two 310ml tubes of special adhesive to stick all the elements firmly together, and 10kg of special sealant paint.

How big is this XL stone effect BBQ grill?

With overall dimensions of 270cm wide, 70cm deep and 237cm high, this is a very large BBQ. You’ll need enough space outside not just to place it but to use it comfortable and safely, and allow space for your guests, dining table, chairs and more as well. With a Net Weight of 950kg it is very heavy but because it arrives in pieces, ready to assemble, it’s not that hard to handle.
