The awesome Palazzetti Ariel Outdoor BBQ Kitchen

The biggest model on our which masonry BBQ list, the magnificent Palazzetti Ariel Outdoor BBQ Kitchen with Twin Gas Hob and Sink is a whopper. It measures 270cm wide by 70cm deep by 237cm high and weighs an impressive 950kg. Why? It’s made from tough quality refractory concrete, which weighs just as much as real stone.

The work surfaces are just as strong and heavy, made from Marmotech, a clever mix of refractory concrete and granulated marble, highly heat resistant. But the look is the star of the show. There’s an elegant chimney and body with a stucco-like finish and curvy capped top. The contrasting shelves are great for storage and preparation, and grill fits large amounts of fabulous food.

118cm wide, 92cm deep and 246cm high, the Portorose is made from refractory concrete with a contrasting Marmotech shelf. We love the flow of this design, the way it mimics traditional Mediterranean buildings. Unlike buildings, though, this’ll never need painting.

It runs on wood or charcoal and stands extremely high temperatures. The super-hot firebox wall has a gap between the panels to stop it overheating. They’ve rolled great materials and good looks into a fresh stone-effect BBQ design rich in Greek island charm. Good storage underneath for fuel or cooking accessories blends with a big cooking grill and an attractive, effective chimney to make it an excellent buy.

Here’s how it works. Simple but powerful and very efficient.

This one is just as easy to build. You just need some ordinary heat proof silicone or cement. There’s no maintenance. It looks good for years and years. Pressure wash it to remove dirt if you like, or leave it to develop an interesting patina as time passes. It acts like stone, tough as old boots.

The steel grill, measuring 70cm x 40cm, is great for cooking lots of food and the ash collection tray and rotisserie are easy to take out and clean. Nice choice.
