Which masonry BBQ? Check these out…

Pan American Large Pan American Style Grill with Wood Fired Brazier

Sometimes ‘OMG’ is the best choice. This is one of those times. The masonry BBQ trend is sizzling hot, these stunning stone effect BBQs are flying off the shelves, and they look absolutely wonderful. Meet three of the most popular products in our our stone effect barbecue collection and get inspired. Here’s how to add Mediterranean style to your outdoor life – and do it large, medium, and small.

The awesome Palazzetti Ariel Outdoor BBQ Kitchen

The biggest model on our which masonry BBQ list, the magnificent Palazzetti Ariel Outdoor BBQ Kitchen with Twin Gas Hob and Sink is a whopper. It measures 270cm wide by 70cm deep by 237cm high and weighs an impressive 950kg. Why? It’s made from tough quality refractory concrete, which weighs just as much as real stone.

The work surfaces are just as strong and heavy, made from Marmotech, a clever mix of refractory concrete and granulated marble, highly heat resistant. But the look is the star of the show. Can you see this fantastic thing in your garden, set against the greenery and flowers? Doesn’t it make you feel like you’re back in Greece, Turkey, the South of France or Spain…?

This one’s perfect for large and medium gardens but there’s no reason why you can’t put it in a small garden and turn the whole space into a welcoming kitchen-dining room. Just make sure there’s enough room for you and your guests to get comfy.

The stainless steel grill grate is big at 68 x 43cm, giving you the space needed to feed loads of people well. The generous-sized BBQ area burns wood or charcoal. There’s a twin gas hob as well, along with a safe space for your gas bottle.

The stainless steel grill grate’s height is adjustable so you can move the food closer to or further from the fire, controlling the cooking process surprisingly finely. Plenty of storage, including one shelf with painted steel doors in peach, make it even more of a pleasure to use.

High heat doesn’t just mean exceptional cooking. It also adds lovely ambient heat to the surroundings, making this XL BBQ the perfect gathering place for sociable fun. You’ll be attracted to it like moths to a flame.

Which masonry BBQ 2 – The Palazzetti Portorose

Next, the Palazzetti Portorose Premium Wood Fired Masonry BBQ Grill. It’s the younger sister of the Ariel, above, with the same kind of cool, exotic styling. There’s an elegant chimney and body with a stucco-like finish and curvy capped top. The contrasting shelves are great for storage and preparation, and grill fits large amounts of fabulous food.

118cm wide, 92cm deep and 246cm high, the Portorose is made from refractory concrete with a contrasting Marmotech shelf. We love the flow of this design, the way it mimics traditional Mediterranean buildings. Unlike buildings, though, this’ll never need painting.

It runs on wood or charcoal and stands extremely high temperatures. The super-hot firebox wall has a gap between the panels to stop it overheating. The tough metal hood guard, the big chromed steel grill grate, it’s all great quality. Cook on a space measuring 76 x 40cm, adjusting the grill to two levels to change the cooking temperature. Would this one suit you and your outdoor life best?

Callow Mussalla Masonry BBQ with Built in Rotisserie

Our third and smallest ‘which masonry BBQ’ choice is the Callow Mussalla, complete with a free rotisserie, usually available separately. It measures 208cm high x 114cm wide x 76cm deep and weighs 550kg, another top quality thing.

They’ve rolled great materials and good looks into a fresh stone-effect BBQ design rich in Greek island charm. Good storage underneath for fuel or cooking accessories blends with a big cooking grill and an attractive, effective chimney to make it an excellent buy.

This one is just as easy to build. You just need some ordinary heat proof silicone or cement. There’s no maintenance. It looks good for years and years. Pressure wash it to remove dirt if you like, or leave it to develop an interesting patina as time passes. It acts like stone, tough as old boots.

The steel grill, measuring 70cm x 40cm, is great for cooking lots of food and the ash collection tray and rotisserie are easy to take out and clean. Nice choice.
