What material are the Cocoon Tables made of?
Cocoon Tables are made of a composite material. In combination with the polyester mats, the overall structure is very solid. The material is resistant to heat, cold and rain, perfect for our UK weather. When you’re not using your Cocoon Table, cover it with the protective cover supplied, and use the stainless steel lid to cover the Built-in Burners.
What should I check before using a Cocoon Table for the first time?
Check that all the pipes are properly connected. Make sure there are no gas leaks. And keep people and animals away from the table the first time you light it. Then simply follow the instructions as described in the manual that comes with your delivery.
Can all tables be converted to natural gas?
Yes, all the tables are convertible to natural gas except the Odin, Hestia and Agni.
Can a gas cylinder be placed inside the Cocoon Table?
Yes and no. Some tables are designed for a gas bottle to go underneath, others are designed so the gas bottle stands next to it. It’s wise to buy a protective profile gas hose to hide and protect the gas hose if your gas bottle will be standing next to the table.
What about the safety of Cocoon Tables?
All our Cocoon Tables are CE KIWA GASTEC certified.
Can I lay the gas cylinder flat?
No, please don’t! It can be very dangerous.
Can a Cocoon Table be used indoors?
No, a Cocoon Table is an outdoor product. You can use it under a canopy or awning as long as at least 25% of the wall surface is open for ventilation, and the ceiling height must be at least 2.5 metres high.
What kind of maintenance do Cocoon Tables need?
These fire tables require very little maintenance. They can easily be cleaned with a damp cloth and soapy water without chemicals. It is wise to regularly check the pipes of the table for leaks. The colour of the Cocoon Table can be updated with the paint set that comes with each table. The Teak can be maintained with teak protector or teak oil. Small hairline cracks occur in the logs but it’s perfectly normal – it happens naturally because of the high temperatures they’re built to handle.
Is it normal to get soot on the logs?
Because the gas it uses leads to incomplete combustion there’s always some soot. But there’s so much less soot than you get with a wood fire. You can rinse the fireplace blocks under the tap to keep them clean.
How much gas does a Cocoon Table use?
It depends on the burner capacity of the Cocoon Table or the Built-in Burner. It also depends on the height of the flame. As a general rule you should be able to keep your fire table burning cheerily for 16-20 hours with a 10KG gas bottle.
