You’ll adore this Espira Bi Plane Cottage Copper Weathervane, a contemporary take on a gadget used for millennia to figure out the weather on the way and know the wind direction. Perfect for bungalows, garages and sheds, the entire Cottage range of weathervanes adds whimsical interest to your home as well as being useful. The plane and spacer balls are made from polished copper, brazed by hand. The NSEW letters are polished brass with a powder-coated black steel rotation rod. Both metals will gradually lose the bright shine to give you a lush patina. Eventually the copper will turn to verdigris, the classic green colour everyone loves. If you prefer, slow the process using several coats of clear spray varnish. You can use Hammerite to extend the life of the steel rotation rod. It comes with a special Eave Bracket projecting 125mm (5”) out with a 7.5cm square mounting plate.
