Love sailing? The design of this beautiful Espira Sail Boat Cottage Copper Weathervane takes us back in time to Viking ships, which often featured weathervanes to help them navigate on their awesome adventures. Ideal for smaller buildings like bungalows, garages and sheds, and perfect for a fence post, the decorative feature and spacer balls are made from polished copper, brazed by hand. The cardinal points, NSEW are polished brass with a powder-coated black steel rotation rod. Brass and copper will gradually lose the bright shine to give you a lovely aged patina. Eventually the copper will turn to verdigris, the classic green colour everyone loves. If you prefer, slow the process using several coats of clear spray varnish. You can use Hammerite to extend the life of the steel rotation rod. All Cottage weathervanes are supplied as standard with an Eave Bracket. This one projects outwards 125mm (5”) with a 7.5cm square mounting plate.
