Our steel chestnut roasting pan has a wooden handle instead of the metal one shown in the photo. As you can imagine a wooden handle is a lot better than metal when you want to avoid getting burned! We’ll add an updated image soon.
This is a specially designed chestnut pan and it does an awesome job. All you do is make a cut on the flat side of each nut before roasting them, to keep them from bursting. Roast your nuts until the the skin starts to go black and you can see the yellow flesh through the cut. Then exercise patience until they’re cool enough to eat without burning your hands and mouth.
The pan has long handles and a heat-proof non-stick surface, and it can also be used to cook foil-wrapped treats on your chiminea, fire pit or BBQ. All you need to do is wash it before using it for the first time, and take care not to bun yourself when it’s hot.Â
